Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 6 August 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Askivo AI ("Askivo", "we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website and use our platform.

This policy is designed to be transparent about what we track and to give you control over your privacy preferences.

For information about how we handle your personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.

Plain Language Summary

  • Essential storage is always on — auth tokens and workspace selection keep you logged in
  • Analytics cookies are opt-in — you choose whether to enable them
  • We don't use advertising or tracking cookies
  • We use localStorage instead of traditional cookies for essential functions
  • You can manage preferences via the cookie banner, dashboard settings, or your browser settings

This summary is for convenience only. The full sections below govern in case of any conflict.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to site owners.

Askivo uses cookies and similar technologies (including local storage and session tokens) for authentication, functionality, analytics, and security. This policy explains what we use and how you can control it.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

We categorize our cookies and similar technologies as follows:

Essential (always on)

  • Authentication token — stored in localStorage, keeps you logged in during your session
  • Workspace selection — stored in localStorage, remembers your active workspace context

Functional

  • None currently in use — reserved for future preference features (e.g., theme selection)

Analytics (opt-in)

  • Usage analytics — help us understand which features are used and how the platform performs (only loaded with your consent; not currently active)

We use localStorage rather than traditional cookies for essential functions. localStorage data is not sent to servers on every request, making it more privacy-friendly. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. Third-Party Cookies

When you use features that integrate with third-party services, those services may set their own cookies:

  • Google OAuth — used for 'Sign in with Google' (Google's privacy policy applies)
  • Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform — messaging integrations (Meta's cookie and data policies apply)

Askivo does not control third-party cookies. Please review the privacy policies of those providers for details.

4. Managing Cookies

You can manage your cookie and storage preferences in the following ways:

  • Cookie consent banner — when you first visit Askivo, you can choose to accept all cookies or essential only. You can re-open the banner at any time via the 'Cookie Settings' link in the footer
  • Dashboard settings — adjust your cookie preferences from the Account Settings page in your dashboard
  • Browser settings — all modern browsers allow you to block, delete, or restrict cookies and localStorage in the privacy settings

Disabling essential localStorage will prevent you from logging in and using the platform. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect platform functionality.

5. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal and regulatory reasons. Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
